Hearing
Far-field by default.
An array of microphones tuned for room-scale pickup, so you can speak normally from anywhere in the room.
In every room
The Bar is the device on your wall. It hears you across the room and chimes the moment it hears its name. The rest of the time it stays quiet. One Bar per room, one Butler across the home.

The Bar is the device you speak to and the one that speaks back. It mounts on the wall and is sized to disappear, so the conversation is what you notice.
Speech-to-text runs on the device, unless you switch on cloud transcription in Hybrid. Reasoning runs on your hub in Sovereign mode, the default. In Hybrid it runs on the model chosen by one resident, whoever speaks, which can be a cloud model. The answer comes back through the same device that heard you. Keep talking after it answers, without saying its name again. If something fails, it tells you out loud. To give it another name, just ask. The room stays a room.

Privacy
The Bar listens for its name on the device itself, and room audio that isn't meant for it is never stored. In Sovereign mode, nothing it hears leaves the house.
Presence
The Bar carries the Butler into the room. It answers out loud and keeps the thread of the conversation, so a follow-up doesn't start over.
In the moment
It chimes as soon as it hears its name and answers out loud. Say “stop” and it stops.
The Bar is a flat, horizontal piece made for the wall: above a doorway, beside a window or along the edge of a countertop. It sits close enough to hear you and stays easy to ignore. The first units go to early-access homes.

Elysium is invite-only for now, and we are opening it to a few homes at a time. Leave your email and we will write to you when there is a place for yours.
